Stretch and Adoration – DVD Product Description:
Warm Up ~ Stretch ~ Adore ~ Dance!
This DVD is divided into two sections – Stretch/adoration and the teaching of a beautiful worship dance.
It is designed with you and your schedule in mind. The stretch and adoration section is divided up into four, 10-15 minute segments of various kinds of stretches. It also has warm up and cool down or Adoration segments. So you may participate one of several ways:
1. You could do the whole thing (about an hour).
2. You could do the 5 minute warm up, choose any one of the 4 stretching segments and then choose the Adoration cool down (about 20-30 minutes).
3. You could do the 5 minute warm up, choose any number of stretching segments and the final cool down (your choice, from 20-60 minutes).
The warm up is important to do before each of the segments, as it raises the internal core body temperature, and prepares the muscles for stretching.
It has some standing movement and stretches to improve flexibility.
There is also a variety of stretches on the floor for maximum improvement.
The whole class flows fluidly from one stretch to another, with clear instruction.
Finally, the stretch section ends with a meditation on and adoration to our Lord Jesus Christ, for a relaxing and satisfying way to start or end your day!
This DVD proves to be an important tool for a worship dancer (or anyone interested in movement):
- To be more flexible
- To move more freely with better joint mobility
- To help reduce risk of injury and muscle soreness
- To enhance coordination
- To give the body longer, leaner lines
- Improve posture
- Improve circulation
- And to be more relaxed, reducing stress
Even though some of the demonstrations are done at an advanced level, it still is for all ages and skill levels. If you’ve never stretched much at all, you may begin and gradually work up to more flexibility.
This section contains the teaching and demonstration of a beautiful, simple worship dance to a song called, “Lovesick.” Some of the concepts incorporated within the dance are derived from the Creative Worship DVD, which has many, many ideas for your worship dancing. Lynn goes over the basic movements first. Then she talks the team through the whole dance without music. Then she talks them through the dance with music. Then they do it twice (shown two slightly different ways) on their own.
